STI-DUI innovation modes and firm performance in the Indian capital goods industry: Do small firms differ from large ones?

چکیده
Despite the importance of informal modes learning and innovation for developing countries, there is little empirical evidence on their role in firm performance. This paper examines effect formal followed by small large firms overall performance capital goods industry. Following wider literature national systems, we categorise as Science, Technology Innovation (STI) Doing, Using Interacting (DUI) mode. We observe that case experience-based related to improved performance, while STI mode does not have any effect. On other hand, firms, both DUI are positively sales growth. Our results indicate building certain capabilities may act a pre-condition enhance strength science technology-based strategies.
